Pictures are worth a thousand words?

Pictures are said to be worth a thousand words. Artists and Cartoonists use images to convey meaning in powerful ways. Check out the following. Pick the one that moves you most, describe the one you've chosen and then tell us what it means to you in your own words.

  1. The fourth picture shows a strong message to me because it represents how society today is so blinded by social media. In the photo the made is locked in a cell which, I'm guessing is supposed to represent technology, and he's looking outside the cell through some kind of binoculars that represent facebook. But the main problem isn't the app he's using, it's that the door to the cell is wide open for him to see anything he wants. However he's using an app to see the real world, through photos, when he can just go out and see it for himself.

  2. The last photo with the three boys caught my eye. This photo shows a white boy with his car. There is two black boys wanted to clean it while the white boy wants them to go or leave. This shows to me the white boy judging the black boys because of their color and it focuses on discrimination. This was a thing back in history and glad people accept each other now as human beings and not as objects.

  3. The first photo shows what it's like today. How everyone is on their phones and they don't do things active and that they don't play outside anymore.

  4. The first picture reached out to me the most. It can be interpreted in many ways. I believe this photo is trying to show how 1 friend who wants to do something fun and spontaneous gets let down by his other friends. No one wants to play with him because their phones keep them busy.

  5. Modern children all the time sit in social media, and communicate by phone, which is not good for the physical development of children. The boy went out into the street to play football, and he has no one to play, football is a team game, this is live communication, and not use social media. This is a disease of the 21st century, children/teenager will remain in the virtual world and in the future it will be very hard for them to get a job, where they need to communicate with people, the ability to communicate is very important.

  6. The third photo stood out to me because it shows how people just ignore or cut off anything original/artistic just because its not on line.

  7. The first photo stood out to me the most. This is because the photo shows a kid with a soccer ball wanting to be active and play while all the other kids are on their devices doing nothing. This photo means that the world is so invested in their electronics even children don't want to play anymore, which is a horrible thing.

  8. The first photo moves me the most because it shows how our generation is. We are so dependent on our devices, a lot of us dont know how to communicate with people around us. the kid is wanting to be active but everyone is on their phones.

  9. The first picture caught my eye because it applies to our generation. Children these days are so caught up in their phones, they don't even know how to interact with others anymore. As it shows in the photo, the boy wants to play soccer with his friends, but the rest are too much into their phones.

  10. The first photo caught my attention because our generation is addicted to technology and their phones. We 'interact' with people by texting and facetiming. We used to gp outiside and actually sit down for lunch, not saying people don't anymore but its not done as much as it used to. The kid in the photo wants to interact and play soccer but everyone is so caught up with their phones.
